Slide Lock 2 reel easy one-handed operation.
The Slide Lock 2 is manufactured from high precision acetal, CNC machined and stainless steel components. This reel retains the unique ‘thumb flick’ locking and unlocking mechanism of the original Slide Lock series. The versatile 60m (200ft) size is ideal for many applications, including as a safety primary in caves or caverns, wreck diving or releasing lift bags and markers. It comes with a stainless steel double latch closure.
The dimensions of the reel have been carefully chosen to offer comfort and ease of use, as well as a low profile when clipped on and stowed. The one-piece acetal handle provides a high-strength, corrosion-resistant construction and an ergonomic grip with or without gloves. The unique in-line clip slots in the handle orient the reel to be closer to the body when attached to a D-ring. This design also allows the included dual locking carabiner to slide and rest on the handle, avoiding the need to remove the clip for quick deployment.
By using a fully machined spool design rather than injection moulded plastic, close tolerances can be used at the spool-frame interface, making the Slide Lock 2 incredibly smooth to operate and highly resistant to interference. If the spool has to be removed, it is a simple procedure using only a 3/16-inch hex key to remove the shaft. There are no small parts, washers or clips to lose. A small ‘fuel gauge’ slot on the front panel of the spool allows the diver to see at a glance how much line is left. The fully knurled inner shaft and thread locking holes in the side plate of the spool completely prevent any slippage of the thread on the spool when winding.
